Players to Watch: Kevin Byrne
The cornerstone of the Boca Raton FC backline, Byrne has had a solid start to the season. Aside from the assist and goal so far this season, Byrne has been a crucial piece to the Boca Raton FC backline and will need to be ready for ISA’s attack that was able to score five goals in just two games.
Quotable
At practice on Thursday Coach Jim Rooney was asked about what the team has focused on in practice this week following a 4-2 win the the home opener:
On ISA:
“They are a young team, and they have had two great results so far this season, one of which was a win on the road versus the league leaders. We are going to take care of business on Saturday, we are familiar with the location, and to us, Cypress Park is our second home.”
On the team’s progression:
“We’ve had three solid wins, but now we need to really start focusing on closing out games better. Every training session is a battle and they have to fight for position. When a team has that [competition], it overall makes the entire team better.”
