Boca Raton FC recorded a 3-1 win over Inter United AC on Saturday night at Cypress Park in APSL action. Shadi Harb’s brace paced Boca Raton and Ukranian International Edmar socred a goal and had a hand in setting up another.
The match started with Boca Raton playing quickly down the flanks and trying to use the width of the pitch. But Inter United AC was potent in breaking up play as crosses were swung into the area and also frustrating some of Boca Raton’s more intricate midfield-based attacking moves.
Edmar broke the deadlock in the 39th minute with a goal and then sprung Harb free early in the second half which led to the second goal – Harb as fouled on the move. Harb converted the subsequent penalty recorded a third in minute 87 to close out the scoring. As the second half wore on Boca Raton dominated possession, though Inter United AC was able to claw back one goal in minute 84 on a spectacular tight-angled shot.
Following Harb’s second goal, Boca Raton goalkeeper Chad Pasmore had a spectacular double save in minute 89 to keep Boca Raton with a 3-1 buffer. The match then played out with a few more counter-attacking opportunities for Boca Raton to record a fourth goal but the scoreline remained 3-1.
The club is back in NPSL Sunshine Conference action twice this week – first on Wednesday night against Beaches FC at the Shipyard in Delray Beach and then away on May 27 against Naples United. Tickets for the Beaches FC match can be purchased here.
