Boca Raton, FL – Boca Raton Football Club announced today that former Real Madrid assistant coach, Marcos Teixeira, is the club’s new Vice President of Soccer Operations.

“The arrival of someone of Marco’s pedigree just goes to confirm our club’s vision,” says Boca Raton FC’s President, Douglas Heizer. “We as a team are not here to compete with other teams, we are here to compete with ourselves and our ultimate focus is to help take part in the expansion and evolution of soccer here in the United States.”

This year has been a year of tremendous growth for the team, and Teixeira’s arrival comes to add and consolidate Boca Raton FC’s growth.

Teixeira will coordinate all the soccer aspects of the club and one of his main objectives this year will be the creation of the U23, U20, and the High-Performance Soccer Academy.

With these projects in which Teixeira will champion, Boca Raton FC will solidify itself as a developmental club which invests in its academy. “We was to see our players go to professional clubs or follow their dreams of going to college,” added Heizer.

Having a degree in Exercise Science with a focus in Sports Sciences, Teixeira has filled a variety of roles in the world of soccer, including a stint with Real Madrid as their assistant coach.

Most notably, Teixeira was with the Brazilian National Team from 1989 until 2000, where he served as their Director and Supervisor of Soccer Operations during the World Cups in 1990, 1994, and 1998, as well as the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996 where Brazil won the bronze medal.

Teixeira also spent time with many important Brazilian teams where he filled different roles with clubs such as Atlético Mineiro, Atlético Paranaense, Figueirense, Flamengo, and Cruzeiro.

“It’s very satisfying to be to contribute in the devolvement of this excellent project here in Boca Raton,” says Teixeira. “I’m certain that Boca Raton FC will be able to put itself on the soccer map not only in Florida, but the United States in the coming years.”
